Ballerina Girl

This cake can be summed up in two words: "Team Effort". It was an order for a 1st Birthday comprising of an interpretation of a ballerina girl cake that the customer supplied a photo of, 36 cupcakes and a whole heap of cookies.

Early in the week, Margie sculpted the ballerina in between working on a couple of other cakes and all was going to plan until........the weather conspired against us to shut down Melbourne airport. So, I got stuck in completely the wrong city, 1000kms away from my cake.

With our 1 Tier Square course to teach on the Saturday, my good friend Betty from Glasshouse Cakes came to the rescue. I worked on the dress detailing the night before and, on the Saturday, Betty finished off by dressing our ballerina girl and creating her ballet shoes.
