Margie Carter, Artistic directorExperience:
Margie is one of Australia’s best known cake artists. A highly accomplished, award-winning artist by trade, her talents shine through in her cake designs. Margie has also exhibited her sculpted cakes at both The Australian National Gallery and The National Gallery Victoria. Margie has been the creative inspiration behind several worldwide best-selling cake books and has designed cakes for celebrities and royalty. Trina Thomson, Brisbane Head Teacher
We are delighted to announce the appointment of Trina Thomson as our Head Teacher in Brisbane. Trina is without doubt one of Austarlia's most talented decorators and we feel very lucky to have her as a key member of our team. Having received her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Trina worked first as a scenic artist in the film industry before moving on to join a cake studio in Brisbane. She also studied at the Bonnie Gordon School in Toronto, graduating with High Distinctions. More details coming soon! |

Lisa Grech-Staehr, Adelaide Head Teacher

Keira JohnsonKeira has been cake decorating since 2007 and teaches our Cupcake classes. She also has a post-graduate qualification in Adult Education and has found a fantastic outlet that allows her to combine her enthusiasm for cakes and for teaching. |
Adele BourneAdele is a qualified chef and has been cake decorating since 1993. She has worked in the hospitality industry for all of her working life and this has included running several busy catering operations. |

Kim BarlettKimmie is a self-confessed ‘Cake Addict’ since she discovered cake decorating 6 years ago. Kimme now teaches our Cupcake classes. She has boundless energy and loves to share her passion for cake decorating. |
Mannie SwavleyMannie keeps everything ticking over smoothly behind the scenes at Whimsical. Many of you will have spoken to her on the phone as she handles your many queries and course requests. She is also a mad keen cake decorator! |
